Default Prophecies Pre-order weapons

As many long-time players may or may not know, the prophcies campaign had its own set of pre-order weapons, though this varied depending on where you pre-ordered from.

However, since the game was just launching they did not want to give out perfect items, so for example the Ithas Bow I have from EB Games' pre-order is req 10 marksmanship* and has 13-25 dmg with armor +5.

*originally the dmg was req 10 and the armor was req 10 expertise, this has been changed along with the skin of the bow if I am not mistaken, so changes to these weapons are possible.

I would love and probably use the Ithas bow as my primary bow, if only it were max damage, why it isn't now is beyond me. I would suggest changing this as it has been changed to have lower req (just 10 marks instead of 10 exp/marks) and all the other pre-order weapons have been max damage since. I know it is a small thing to ask but it would be nice to use my Ithas bow as many people don't even know what one is now.

I also, have an ithas bow. I wish I could use it =(.

I asked gaile one time, in the international districts... she answered that: "I might ask about it" and never said anything else.

I also agree that the preorder items be buffed. I really like the skin of Ithas Bow as well.

Most of the Prophesies Preorder items utility is in pre-searing, where they are among the most powerful items you can get.

Incidently, if on the off chance anyone has an unused pre-order key for the Bone Idol, War Pick or (especially) the Chimeric Prisim, I will Paypal you a nice sum.

I have the Chimeric Prism. I love it, though it's rarely useful, it's nice to have.

Wrong. In pre-searing (and most of the game), they only have the base damage, energy, or armor for the weapon type, focus, or shield respectively due to their high requirements. Once you find a single weapon that exceeds the base damage, the weapons become useless. Combine that with the fact that their bonuses have such high requirements as well, which don't become active until at least the end of the Ascalon section of the story. Anyone saying that Prophecies pre-order weapons are good in pre-searing (or anywhere for that matter) is either stupid or lying.

Unless they buffed the Prophecies Pre-Order items.... there not that good actually. There not max dmg, requirment or stat.

They look cool but the Factions/Nightfall pre-order items as well as the game of the year are far better.

You can add the keys to your account at any time (if you can find them).

They were higher power, then nerfed before the game launched. And been medicore ever since.

Woah! Easy there. There are a lot of folks who like to have high-level characters in pre. Before the "game of the year" items came out, these preorder items were one of the few ways to get a high damage weapon in pre. The prysm is one of the coolest items in the game - wish I had one. Think of how much a +5 energy max shield would sell for if you could sell them..

I'd also like my Ithas bow to be useful.

I wish my Canthan Targe had the max armor level on it and could be dyed.

Yeah it is cool but it really is rarely useful. I think the only thing I use mine for is when I run P/R Packhunter because it's basically a lesser shield that uses Expertise as a requirement.

The Prism is the only remotely worthwhile one and it wasn't released in the initial batch, which is why it isn't totally worthless.

EDIT: In fact, the improvement of the Prism over the earlier pre-order items is an unsigned admittance that the initial batch was pretty lame.

As far as buffing goes. Make the pre-order items and such moddable.

On the off chance someone has an unused Chimeric Prism key, I have a collection of unused preorders from each chapter and I'd be interested in a trade.

Right you are. Be careful or you will be labeled "stupid" or a "liar". . . I forgot about the GOTY weapons. I guess those supersede all of the Prophesies preorders (except the Chimeric Prism, of course).

@Mr_T_bot

Relax, Crazy McHostile. These weapons are useful in pre-searing as long as you meet the (admittedly high) requirements. They are certainly better than any drops you can get there. Obviously the < lvl 10 player wouldn't have much use for them, but plenty of people keep higher level alts there.

It'd be nice if they also bundled these into a package a la GOTY weapons and offered them as a bit of an upgrade for those people who just have to have them all (but if not, Id be willing to buy Proph pre-order keys that are unusued at a reasonable price when I get some money). But I would understand if they don't, since the GOTY upgrade items pretty much supersede those preorder items.

I doubt they will make the original preorder weapons available again, simply because (like the divine aura) they were dubbed "exclusive" at the time. I don't think they ever called the GoTY weapons exclusive.

Even if they didn't, they pretty much were - the only way to get the GOTY weapons was to buy the GOTY edition (here in America). Of course, I paid for the upgrade so my heroes can use some better and more versatile (even though not really leet) weapons.

I did the same thing (added a GoTY key to my main account). Later they made the GoTY upgrade available, and while I was a little bummed I didn't worry too much about it. I added the GoTY knowing full well that they might make the weapons available (there were rumors). I simply didn't want to take a chance that they would go the way of the dodo like the divine aura.
